I am trying to post once a week on Wednesday, but this week I am a bit late. I wanted to get all the information and names correct for this latest post.
On Memorial Day 2017, I was an invited guest of a local radio show: “TWO BALD GUYS and a MICROPHONE”, aired by Harvard Illinois Community Radio Station WHIW, 101.3. The show’s two hosts, Tim Stewart and Kent “Deek” Jones, are both radio announcers extraordinaire, providing positive, inspirational programming to their listeners. Along with Rich Rostron (technical support), Demond K Ross and via technology, ” Rancher Ron” Hoesterey from Texas, companionable conversation centered around the history and positive impact of COLLIER HOUSE. Left to right: Kent, Tim, Sandy, Demond and Rich. Not pictured Ron Hoesterey (Rancher Ron).
The show was aired live and also live on Facebook (how do they do that?), reaching over 6, 000 listeners! I am sure it is no surprise to anyone that I was able to chat for three hours about COLLIER HOUSE, hopefully spreading the word to GOLD STAR families to visit and increasing community awareness of the mission of COLLIER HOUSE to bring Peace to the world, one family at a time.
I deeply thank the shows participants for their interest in COLLIER HOUSE and supporting the need for a place for GOLD STAR families to rest, relax and remember their loved ones who died during active duty in our military.
Peace… a way of life,
